The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Zodiac Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the community. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the game's launch, to players forming firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one thought naturally: How can link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Remain on the good side of both and enjoy a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its standard and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their side to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several previous official descriptions mention their fondness for tasty tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this total royalty. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of chatter to anyone who wish to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very simple to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to foresee an opponent's future actions, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for frequently getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely control,” which seems a lot like a typical Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Leo brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for aliens.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant digestive issues. The sign famous for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a plan.
The Scales – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would probably just make them worry even more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it became sentient through pure hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. Being a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even notes how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the identical energy as a Capricorn, who tends to always think they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting presence is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
