Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.
He rescued four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
