I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
